Duplex ultrasound imaging (DUS) is an essential part of the initial diagnostic evaluation of patients with problems of venous circulation. This State of the Art computerized technology is utilized to define each patient's specific venous anatomy prior to recommending treatment.

But sophisticated technology is only as good as the people using it. Exemplifying our commitment to quality, we employ the only full-time venous, Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) in the Central Valley. Superior quality ultrasound imaging of the venous system is an essential part of the diagnostic process. An accurate diagnosis of your venous problem combined with Dr. Elmore's experience and understanding of venous anatomy and physiology allows for the unparalleled success of treatment at Elmore Medical Vein and Laser Treatment Center.

In addition to the above venous problems, we evaluate and treat the following conditions:
1. Facial spider veins.
2. Cosmetic leg veins (spider and reticular blue veins),
3. Cherry red spots (cherry angiomas).
4. Brown discoloration and congestion at the ankles.

What causes varicose veins?

The two most important factors are heredity and hormones. Varicose veins run in families. Veins are affected by the female hormone estrogen, which explains why most patients with varicose veins are women. Standing for long periods of time is also a factor.
